Convert an IndusInd Bank Statement PDF to Excel

IndusInd statement structure, how the balance column behaves, and the checks that confirm a converted file is complete.

IndusInd Bank statements are among the cleaner Indian layouts to convert. The columns are consistently positioned and the text layer is reliable. Two things still deserve attention.

Multi-line descriptions

IndusInd narrations wrap for NEFT, RTGS and IMPS transfers. As with most banks, the continuation lines carry no date and no amount, and must be merged back into the transaction above rather than emitted as their own rows.

The account summary sits close to the table

IndusInd prints the account summary — opening balance, total debits, total credits, closing balance — immediately above the transaction table, in similar column positions. This proximity is what causes converters to absorb it as data.

Kept out of the transaction list, those four figures become the most useful thing on the page: they let you prove the extraction is complete rather than merely hope so.

Converting

  1. Download the e-statement PDF From IndusInd internet banking or the mobile app.
  2. Supply the password if prompted IndusInd e-statements are usually protected with a combination of your details.
  3. Upload and convert Use the converter above. Continuation lines are merged automatically.
  4. Confirm all four summary figures Opening, closing, total debits and total credits should each agree with your extracted data.

What the export contains

In the fileWhat you get
IndusInd's own columnsEvery heading as printed, in the same order. Nothing is renamed or mapped onto a template
DatesExactly as printed, with nothing reformatted
DescriptionsIn full, with wrapped NEFT, RTGS and IMPS lines joined into one cell
AmountsEach in the column IndusInd printed it in
A Completeness sheetEvery row checked against the printed running balance, and the summary figures checked where the statement prints them

For Tally, the Tally XML download writes the same rows as Payment and Receipt vouchers, with a real date and one amount each, because vouchers need both.

Verifying against all four summary figures

IndusInd prints opening balance, closing balance, total debits and total credits. Checking all four rather than just the closing balance matters for a specific reason.

If a converter drops one debit and one credit of the same size, the closing balance is unaffected — the errors cancel exactly. Only comparing the debit and credit totals separately reveals it, because each is now short in its own direction.

Frequently asked questions

Are IndusInd credit card statements supported?

Yes, though there is no running balance, so verification uses the printed totals instead of a chain.

Is matching the closing balance enough?

No. Two offsetting errors cancel in the closing balance. Compare debit and credit totals separately as well.

Does it work with IndusInd Indie accounts?

Yes — the digital account statements use the same layout family.
